Current Mood: nerdy
Current Music: Crave by Ted Nugent.
I am in an awful mood these days!!! donno whats happening to me... and added to this, my project is dancing right on my head! ;-) its been 3 conitnous holidays (friday was ntnl hol) but i have been to office both yday and today and will be going even tomm! Never in my life would i have wasted a 3 days holiday like this. And somehow i am not getting "that" drive to go and work...
Then, i was reading the following article on ipod on ExtremeTech. I wasnt interested in ipod..i have read lots on it already. but i like this guys` articles...esp the boss`s comments in the middle. check this take on Mac OS X.
Anyway, in the end of his article, our man Jim gave this link to Ted Nugent's song "Crave" download.. supposedly legal download. Maybe the 5th re-run of the song is running currently..;-) i like it atleast. got a good tune for sure. Then, i realised what is missing in my current life...its MUSIC...I remember back in college, i used to get a fresh dump of songs(beg, borrow , steal or bloody buy!) by every quiz time. it used to be virtually impossible to start a mugging session without new songs...first year it used to be hindi and pop...Yeah, i never even used to listen to hindi songs before!! :-O Second year don gave me this "So far so good" of Bryan Adams and i have been fan of him since...Second year also saw the raise of Rammstein, Bon Jovi, MJ...But the main influx was in 3rd year. I got this cable to connect my sony music system to my comp(i bought for 5k...of course, i dint tell the exact price to my dad..at the end of that deal, i dint even have money to buy cassettes! ;-)) ). After that, the system was just reduce to a line-in system, catering only to my holy PC. With Bania, sandy pouring in their fundaes (and of course mp3s) in Rock, it was a virtual blowout. I had to upgrade my hard disk capacity by 10 times!!(my old one was 4 GB ). and hence, i always had new songs for my exam times...
but in the end i carried out so many songs that i havent listened them to all yet. but i did listen to a lot of them, unlike many who jus burn cds but never listen.
Of course, this made me remind of how my "holy" pc evolved to wat it is now, but that some other day...but as i raised it, my comp though of 1999 jan build, a cool 0.3GHz celeron config, ultimately ran the Quake III game, Age of Conquerors ..i was even able to get it a USB port by forcing a 9pin plug into a 10pin plug in the motherboard(i bent off the 10th metallic pin ;-) )..and mine used to be the only motherbard in the wing with a AGP slot!! other "latest" comps had intel 810 mbd, which dint give an external slot option..my poor wingmates ;-)) and was in full working condition(except the smps) when i exchanged for money(for my upgrade) in Oct, 2004. Of course, i still carry the monitor and floppy drive from that comp, but apart from that everything has had an upgrade. The goddamn system worked without an UPS for so long!! it still hasnt got an UPS..but of course, thats only bcos of me. I bought an UPS last year, which i promptly messed up and reduced it to a plain regulator!!! Who said tinkering with ur comp always goes in the right direction???? |
